The Adani Group has announced plans to invest $100 billion by 2035 to develop renewable energy-powered, hyperscale AI-ready data centres, positioning India as a global technology powerhouse. The conglomerate described the initiative as a sovereign energy-and-compute platform designed to integrate clean energy generation with advanced computing infrastructure.

According to the company, the ambitious project could unlock an additional $150 billion in investments across related sectors such as server manufacturing, electrical infrastructure, sovereign cloud platforms, and other allied industries. Together, this could create a $250 billion AI infrastructure ecosystem in India over the next decade.
Speaking on the announcement, Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, said the world is entering an “Intelligence Revolution” more transformative than any previous Industrial Revolution. He emphasized that nations capable of aligning energy capacity with computing power will define the next era of global leadership, adding that India is well placed to take that role.

The group plans to expand beyond its current footprint in green energy and data centres by building a comprehensive five-layer AI technology stack focused on strengthening India’s technological sovereignty. This includes integrating renewable power generation, transmission networks, and hyperscale computing into a unified architecture.

Adani also confirmed an expansion of the group’s partnership with Flipkart to establish a second AI-focused data centre facility. The new centre will support digital commerce operations and high-performance computing workloads, reflecting rising demand for AI-driven services.

The proposed deployment is expected to reach 5 gigawatts (GW) of capacity, making it one of the largest integrated AI infrastructure initiatives globally. The company said it is inviting global technology firms and institutions to collaborate on what it calls one of India’s most ambitious national-scale infrastructure projects.
