Channel³ Consulting has appointed Andrew Smith as Partner, strengthening its senior health leadership team and expanding its expertise in prevention, integrated care and Neighbourhood Health.
Smith brings more than 25 years of experience across the NHS, government, consulting and health technology.
In his new role, Smith will support the continued growth of Channel³’s Health practice. His work will focus on helping health and care organisations turn national ambitions around prevention, integrated care and Neighbourhood Health into practical, digitally enabled models of care.
Smith began his career through the NHS Financial Management Training Scheme before spending 10 years at the Department of Health. During his time there, he led national programmes involving the NHS and commercial organisations, giving him experience in healthcare policy, system strategy and large-scale transformation.
He later moved into consulting and technology. Smith was recruited to establish and lead the healthcare business at Objectivity, a software development company. He helped grow the business before its acquisition by Accenture. Following the acquisition, he continued working in healthcare transformation at Accenture.
At Accenture, Smith led the firm's work with the NHS on Neighbourhood Health and served as Head of Private Sector Healthcare Partnerships. His responsibilities included working with major NHS and healthcare clients and supporting transformation programmes across the sector.
He also brings experience in population health management and integrated care, having co-founded a population health management company that advised health systems and governments across the UK, Europe and the Middle East.
Commenting on his appointment, Andrew Smith, Partner at Channel³ Consulting, said :
“Health and care, and the opportunity to make a genuine difference, have always been personal to me.”
He said he was attracted to Channel³ by its leadership, values and ambition, and highlighted his intention to help expand its work in prevention, integrated care and Neighbourhood Health.
Founded in 2009, Channel³ Consulting is a digital transformation consultancy working across health, social care and public services. The firm works with NHS organisations, local authorities, national bodies and other public-service organisations, helping them use digital, data and AI to transform care and improve productivity, outcomes and value for money. Channel³ says it has supported more than 400 organisations across the UK since its launch.
The consultancy's approach combines digital expertise, strategic insight and frontline experience from clinicians, social care professionals and digital specialists. Its work includes supporting organisations to develop more preventative, integrated and sustainable models of health and care.
Leo Jones, Chief Executive of Channel³ Consulting, said :
“I’m delighted to welcome Andrew to Channel³. He brings an exceptional breadth of experience across the NHS, government, consulting and health technology.”
Jones added that Smith would contribute to the firm's ambition around prevention, integrated care and Neighbourhood Health.
The appointment comes as Channel³ continues to strengthen its healthcare consulting capabilities. In September 2026, the company was also named one of the UK’s Best Workplaces in Consulting & Professional Services for the second consecutive year, following its fifth consecutive Great Place to Work certification.
The company has also highlighted its recognition among the UK's leading healthcare consulting firms and its continued work in digital health transformation.
Smith's appointment therefore adds another senior professional with experience spanning government, NHS leadership, healthcare consulting, technology, population health and integrated care.
His background is closely aligned with Channel³'s focus on helping health and care organisations move from strategy to practical transformation, particularly as the sector develops new approaches to prevention and Neighbourhood Health.
