Chemonics Australia has completed the acquisitions of 35 South Advisors and JID, expanding its capabilities in public-sector advisory, infrastructure, international development, and program implementation across Australia and the Indo-Pacific.
The acquisitions bring together complementary expertise in consulting, government delivery, infrastructure, and complex program execution. 35 South Advisors contributes expertise in public policy, economics, data insights, and program and service delivery, with experience spanning sectors such as health, social services, defence, finance, and international development.
JID, meanwhile, strengthens Chemonics Australia’s regional infrastructure and implementation capabilities, with experience in social and economic infrastructure, disaster response, resilience, and service delivery across Papua New Guinea, Tonga, Solomon Islands, Fiji, and Vanuatu.
The acquisitions also build on Chemonics Australia’s establishment in 2025, supporting its strategy of combining global development expertise with local knowledge to serve governments and development partners across the region.
Together, the businesses are positioned to deliver broader solutions covering policy development, strategic advisory, infrastructure investment, and program implementation, strengthening Chemonics Australia’s presence in the growing Indo-Pacific consulting and development market.
The acquisitions are part of Chemonics Australia's strategy to strengthen its ability to support governments, development partners, and institutions from strategy and planning through implementation. Chemonics Australia was launched in 2025 to bring the global firm's experience and delivery capabilities closer to partners across Australia and the Indo-Pacific.

The acquisition of 35 South adds capabilities in public policy, program and service delivery, economics, and data insights. Founded in 2021, the consulting firm works with Australian Government and not-for-profit organisations across areas including health, social services, central agencies, defence, and international development.

The combination is expected to give 35 South access to broader resources and expertise while maintaining its focus on practical government consulting and client delivery.
The second acquisition, JID, strengthens Chemonics Australia's capabilities in social and economic infrastructure, service delivery, disaster response and resilience, and complex program execution. JID has teams operating across the Indo-Pacific and has supported programs in Papua New Guinea, Tonga, Solomon Islands, Fiji, and Vanuatu.

Bowman said the partnership would provide JID teams with stronger systems and resources to support larger programs while keeping local knowledge central to delivery.
The acquisitions strengthen Chemonics Australia's ability to work with government and development institutions across the region. Its partners include Australia's Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Department of Defence, New Zealand's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and the Asian Development Bank.
Chemonics brings more than 50 years of experience delivering programs in more than 160 countries, while the addition of 35 South and JID gives its Australian business deeper local consulting, infrastructure, and implementation capabilities.
The deal therefore represents more than a simple expansion. It combines consulting expertise, public-sector advisory, infrastructure delivery, and international development capabilities, positioning Chemonics Australia to take on broader and more complex assignments across the Indo-Pacific.
