Huawei, JA Solar, UNESCO, and Thailand’s Ministry of Education have launched the Green Education Project to help Thai schools and communities use solar power and improve digital learning. The project is part of Huawei’s global TECH4ALL program and aims to support 11 schools and learning centers across Thailand.
The project began on December 3 in Nakhon Nayok, with a new solar-powered roof installed at the Banna District Learning Encouragement Center. This center, along with Kanchanapisek Vocational Training College in Nong Chok, is among the first to benefit from the program. Both places will now be able to train students and community members in green energy and digital skills.
The Green Education Project has three main goals. First, it will help secondary schools by adding solar systems and teaching students and teachers how green energy works. Second, it will provide hands-on training at vocational schools to help students learn how to install and maintain solar panels. Third, it will support community centers and libraries with digital learning programs, including cybersecurity and green energy training using Huawei’s traveling Digital Bus. So far, the Digital Bus has reached 10 rural provinces, teaching over 4,500 students. It gives free lessons in areas such as renewable energy and safe internet practices.
Leaders of the project hope it will help close the education and energy gaps in rural Thailand. With the support of international companies and local institutions, the project is giving young people the tools they need for a better future. More organizations are expected to join in the coming years to expand the program and help create a greener, smarter Thailand.
