Lazard Completes Campbell Lutyens Acquisition

Global financial advisory firm Lazard has completed its acquisition of Campbell Lutyens, a specialist private capital advisory firm, and officially launched a new business unit called Lazard CL.

The announcement was made on November 2, 2026, marking an important development in the global private capital advisory market.

The transaction, first announced on April 30, 2026, brings together Lazard's existing private capital advisory business and Campbell Lutyens' international operations.

The newly established Lazard CL will operate as Lazard's third global business, alongside Financial Advisory and Asset Management.

A New Global Private Capital Advisory Platform

Lazard CL combines expertise in fundraising, secondary transactions and General Partner (GP) capital advisory. These services support private market investment firms in raising funds, managing investments and finding liquidity solutions.

The platform will serve financial sponsors, institutional investors and other participants across private markets. Its advisory capabilities will cover major asset classes, including private equity, private credit, infrastructure and real estate.

According to Lazard, the combined business has more than 300 advisory professionals working across 19 offices worldwide. Over the past four decades, the two businesses have collectively advised on more than $1 trillion in primary capital raised and secondary transaction volume across approximately 1,300 mandates.

The platform will also connect around 4,000 institutional investors through a global distribution network supported by more than 60 Limited Partner (LP) distribution professionals.

Peter Orszag Highlights the Strategic Importance

Peter Orszag, CEO and Chairman of Lazard, said the launch strengthens the firm's position across financial advisory and private capital activity.

"We are thrilled to launch our third global business, Lazard CL. By pairing leading global positions in primary fundraising and secondary advisory with our world-class M&A, capital markets, and restructuring expertise, we are deepening the connectivity between our advisory businesses and strengthening our reach across both the largest strategic transactions and private capital activity."

He also welcomed Campbell Lutyens' team, highlighting its talent and client-focused culture.

Leadership of the Combined Business

Lazard CL will be jointly led by Holcombe Green, Lazard's Global Head of Private Capital Advisory, and Gordon Bajnai, former CEO of Campbell Lutyens.

Both leaders bring experience in private capital advisory and fundraising. Their roles will support the integration of the two businesses and the development of a broader global platform.

Gordon Bajnai said the new business builds on Campbell Lutyens' 38-year history and its client-first approach. He also highlighted the opportunity to combine the firm's expertise with Lazard's global financial advisory capabilities.

Revenue Expectations and Future Growth

Lazard expects Lazard CL to generate approximately $500 million in combined revenue in 2027. The firm also anticipates that the business will contribute positively to earnings from 2027, before accounting for potential revenue or expense synergies.

The acquisition forms part of Lazard's broader 2030 strategy, which focuses on long-term growth and expanding its private capital advisory capabilities.

With the completion of the transaction, Lazard aims to offer clients a wider range of services across fundraising, liquidity solutions and strategic financial advice. The launch of Lazard CL also reflects the growing importance of private capital markets and the demand for specialised advisory services worldwide.
