ZURICH, August 17, 2026 — Lazard is expanding its Financial Advisory business in the DACH region with the appointment of Dr. Marco Superina as Head of Investment Banking for Switzerland. The move strengthens the firm's presence in the Swiss market and expands its ability to advise companies, entrepreneurs and financial sponsors on mergers and acquisitions, capital solutions and strategic matters.

Superina will be based in Zurich and will lead Lazard's investment banking activities in Switzerland. He will also become part of the DACH Financial Advisory management team led by Marcus Schenck, Head of Financial Advisory for the DACH region.

The appointment gives Lazard a senior investment banking leader with extensive experience in the Swiss market. Superina joins the firm from UBS, where he served as Head of Global Banking Switzerland. At UBS, he was responsible for the bank's corporate coverage and investment banking activities across the country.

Before joining UBS, Superina spent several years at Credit Suisse, where he held a number of senior positions. His previous responsibilities included serving as Head of M&A Switzerland, Head of M&A Northern Europe and Head of Healthcare M&A for Europe. His experience covers major corporate transactions, mergers and acquisitions and strategic advisory work.

Lazard Strengthens Swiss M&A Advisory

Lazard said Superina will advise Swiss and international corporations, entrepreneurs and financial sponsors on M&A, capital solutions and strategic matters. His appointment is expected to strengthen the firm's relationships with clients in Switzerland while connecting them with Lazard's international advisory network.

The Swiss market provides opportunities for financial advisers as companies continue to evaluate acquisitions, divestments, financing options and other strategic transactions. Lazard's expanded presence is aimed at supporting clients through these complex decisions with independent financial advice.

“Lazard offers clients the independent M&A advice and capital solutions they expect,” - Dr. Marco Superina, Head of Investment Banking for Switzerland, Lazard.

He added that he looks forward to bringing Lazard's global capabilities and local expertise to clients across Switzerland. The appointment also reflects the importance of Switzerland within Lazard's broader European Financial Advisory operations. With Zurich serving as a major financial centre, the firm is seeking to deepen its local coverage while providing access to its wider international platform.

Expansion Across the DACH Region

The Swiss expansion is part of Lazard's broader strategy to strengthen its Financial Advisory business across the DACH region, which covers Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Lazard has been expanding its senior advisory capabilities as companies and investors navigate changing market conditions, increased cross-border activity and evolving capital requirements. Strengthening its presence in individual markets allows the firm to combine local market knowledge with its international transaction expertise.

For Lazard, the appointment also adds further senior M&A experience to its European advisory platform. Superina's background across UBS and Credit Suisse gives him experience working with companies and investors on significant transactions and strategic decisions.

The move comes at a time when businesses are increasingly looking for experienced advisers to help assess acquisition opportunities, manage transactions and determine appropriate capital strategies. Financial advisory firms are playing an important role in helping clients evaluate these decisions as deal activity develops across European markets.

Focus on Companies and Financial Sponsors

Lazard's Swiss investment banking team will work with a broad range of clients, including corporations, entrepreneurs and financial sponsors. Its advisory work can cover transactions such as acquisitions, disposals, mergers, capital solutions and other strategic initiatives.

Superina's experience in M&A and corporate advisory is expected to support this client focus. His previous work in Switzerland and across European markets gives Lazard additional expertise as it develops its advisory franchise in the country.

The appointment also highlights the continuing competition among global financial institutions for senior investment banking and M&A professionals. Bringing experienced dealmakers into regional leadership roles is one way advisory firms are strengthening their capabilities in important financial centres.

With Superina leading investment banking in Switzerland, Lazard is looking to build on its existing DACH platform and expand its relationships with Swiss businesses and investors.

The move ultimately strengthens Lazard's position in Switzerland while supporting its wider Financial Advisory growth strategy across Europe. By combining local expertise in the Swiss market with its global advisory network, the firm aims to provide clients with greater support on M&A, capital solutions and strategic transactions.
