Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently launched and laid the foundation stone for multiple development projects worth nearly ₹9,400 crore in Telangana, highlighting the Centre’s focus on infrastructure, manufacturing, railways and energy expansion in the state.
Addressing a public gathering in Hyderabad, the Prime Minister said the projects would strengthen Telangana’s industrial growth and create large-scale employment opportunities. He stated that India is moving ahead rapidly through reforms while simultaneously building modern infrastructure across sectors.
A major highlight of the visit was the development of the Zaheerabad Industrial Area into an Industrial Smart City. Modi said the project would feature advanced infrastructure, uninterrupted power supply and modern ICT networks to attract global investments. He added that sectors such as automobiles, machinery and food processing would create opportunities for both workers and farmers.
The Prime Minister also stressed the Centre’s efforts to revive India’s textile sector through the PM MITRA Park in Warangal. He said the park would support the textile industry through Central initiatives, including the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme, and generate significant employment, especially for women.
Emphasising infrastructure development, Modi noted that the Union Government has invested heavily in roads, railways and airports over the past 12 years. He said Telangana has benefited from a major highway expansion, supported by nearly ₹1.75 lakh crore allocated for National Highway development.
Highlighting railway growth, the Prime Minister said Telangana now receives annual railway allocations exceeding ₹5,500 crore. He added that projects worth around ₹50,000 crore are currently underway in the state. Modi also inaugurated railway projects, including sections of the Kazipet-Vijayawada Multi-Tracking Project and the Kazipet Rail Under Bypass Line.
On energy security, he inaugurated Indian Oil’s new terminal at Malkapur and reiterated India’s commitment to renewable energy, ethanol blending and clean fuel expansion.
