Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched 105 new development projects worth over ₹18,600 crore during his visit to Odisha. The projects cover key areas like drinking water, irrigation, healthcare, roads, bridges, highways, and railway infrastructure. He unveiled them at a public event held at Janata Maidan.

As part of the visit, PM Modi also released the Odisha Vision Document, which outlines the state’s goals leading up to 2036 and 2047. These targets include making Odisha’s economy grow to $500 billion by 2036 and $1.5 trillion by 2047. The vision document was created based on public input and aims to guide the state's progress in the long run.

He also flagged off new trains, including the first passenger train from the newly opened Sonepur-Purunakatak railway line to the Boudh district. Railway work also began for new rail lines between Jharsuguda and Jamga, and between Sarla and Sason. PM Modi also launched 100 electric buses under the Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) system to promote clean and modern travel in cities.

To promote culture and tourism, PM Modi introduced the “Baraputra Aitihya Gram Yojana.” This scheme will develop the birthplaces of famous Odia personalities into heritage villages with museums, statues, and libraries.

During the event, the Prime Minister met and congratulated several inspiring women, including “Lakhpati Didis” — women from Self-Help Groups who have earned over ₹1 lakh a year. Odisha currently leads the country in this program, with more than 16.6 lakh Lakhpati Didis across India.

This visit marks PM Modi’s sixth trip to Odisha since the BJP came to power in the state in June 2024.
