Proudly Say, This is Swadeshi: PM Modi Champions Vocal for Local for a Viksit Bharat

In the 125th episode of his monthly radio programme Mann Ki Baat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a passionate appeal to citizens to celebrate the upcoming festive season by embracing Swadeshi (indigenous) products. Reiterating his call for Aatmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India), he emphasized that the path to a Viksit Bharat (developed India) begins with supporting local businesses and homegrown goods.

“With the festive season in full swing, from Ganesh Utsav to many other vibrant celebrations ahead, let’s ensure that everything — from gifts and clothes to decorations and lighting — is proudly made in India”, said PM Modi.

He urged citizens to take pride in using indigenous products and adopt the mantra: "One Mantra — Vocal for Local; One Path — Aatmanirbhar Bharat; One Goal — Viksit Bharat.”

On social media platform X (formerly Twitter), the Prime Minister echoed this sentiment in Hindi, stating: "Proudly say, this is Swadeshi!"

Earlier, during a public address in Ahmedabad, PM Modi encouraged manufacturers, traders, and consumers alike to adopt Made in India as a "life mantra." He emphasized improving product quality, reducing costs, and building global trust in Indian-made goods.

“The people of Hindustan will never need to look outside if we support and strengthen our own,” he said, urging citizens to lead by example — especially while exchanging gifts during festivals.

The Prime Minister also reminded everyone to uphold cleanliness during the festive season, adding: “Where there is cleanliness, the joy of festivals increases even more.”
