SAP to Acquire TechWolf in Workforce Intelligence Deal

SAP has agreed to acquire TechWolf, a Belgium-based workforce intelligence company, in a move aimed at strengthening its capabilities in skills mapping, workforce planning and organisational redesign.

Financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
The acquisition will bring TechWolf’s proprietary context graph for work, AI models and applied research team into SAP.

The technology provides enterprises with a continuously updated view of the work employees perform, the skills they use and the changes taking place in the external labour market.

SAP expects the transaction to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approval.

TechWolf’s platform works with information from existing HR and business systems to build a detailed picture of an organisation. It maps work at the task level, identifies employee skills and connects this information with external labour-market data.

Following the acquisition, SAP expects TechWolf to become an important part of its SAP SuccessFactors portfolio. The combined capabilities are intended to support workforce planning, skills-based hiring, reskilling, internal mobility and organisational redesign. This could give HR and business leaders better information when making decisions about workforce development and deployment.

The two companies already have customers using their technology together. SAP said the acquisition will allow both organisations to develop additional workforce and skills optimisation products after the transaction closes.

“TechWolf’s proprietary context graph for skills and work provides a very good grounding layer for agent queries regarding work and skills planning and talent management.”  - Manoj Swaminathan, President and Chief Product Officer, SAP Autonomous Suite and Member of the Extended Board of SAP SE

He added that the technology aligns with SAP’s strategy and can improve AI-driven HR applications such as skills-based hiring, workforce planning and role redesign.

SAP plans to keep TechWolf as an independent entity after the transaction closes. The company will retain its headquarters in Ghent, Belgium, continue operating under Andreas De Neve, CEO and Co-Founder, TechWolf, and maintain offices in London, New York and San Francisco. Its platform will also remain available to both SAP and non-SAP customers.

TechWolf has developed its workforce intelligence technology since 2018, while its open-source models have been downloaded more than two million times. Its customer base includes companies such as HSBC, GSK, Ericsson, AMD, MetLife, PayPal and Booking.com.

“Organizations everywhere are trying to figure out how AI is reshaping work, and what their workforce needs to look like as a result.” - Andreas De Neve, CEO and Co-Founder, TechWolf

He said joining SAP would allow TechWolf to extend its mission across a broader business context and at greater scale.

The acquisition reflects SAP’s broader effort to strengthen workforce transformation capabilities as organisations reassess skills, roles and talent strategies. For enterprises, the combination could provide a more connected view of workforce capabilities and help business leaders make more informed decisions around hiring, reskilling and organisational change.
