Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra Push for More Industry and Jobs

By Global Consultants Review Team Monday, 19 May 2025

The Chhattisgarh government has updated its Industrial Development Policy for 2024 to 2030 to bring in more businesses and create jobs. The Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, made these changes to make the policy more useful, job-friendly, and flexible. The policy will be reviewed often and can be adjusted as needed until March 2030.

The new changes support farming, toys, textiles, tourism, and transport sectors. The government is encouraging the use of new technology such as automation and the Internet of Things (IoT), especially in farming. Companies in Chhattisgarh that hire local people will get grants from the government. To boost tourism and jobs in Bastar and Surguja, the state has lowered the minimum investment needed for hotels and resorts. The textile industry will also get a $200 bonus for every new investment. Chhattisgarh is also planning a new logistics policy to become a transport hub.

Meanwhile, in Maharashtra, the government signed an agreement with XSIIO Logistics Parks and Horizon Industrial Parks, part of the Blackstone Group. This deal is expected to bring in foreign investment worth Rs 5,127 crore and create 27,510 new jobs. The signing happened at Sahyadri Guest House, between Industries Secretary Dr. P Anbalagan and Horizon’s president, R K Narayanan.

This partnership will help build modern industrial and logistics parks in key areas of Maharashtra, in line with the state’s new logistics policy for 2024.
