Economic consulting firm Compass Lexecon has appointed Dr. Adel Turki as President and Niall MacMenamin as Deputy President of its North American practice, introducing a new leadership structure designed to support strategic growth, strengthen client relationships and improve coordination across its consulting operations.
FTI Consulting announced the appointments in a press release dated October 13, 2026. Compass Lexecon advises corporations, law firms and government clients on competition economics, securities litigation, financial disputes, valuation, damages analysis and regulatory matters.
The appointments bring together two experienced consultants whose expertise spans complex financial disputes and competition-related matters. Their leadership is expected to support the firm’s continued development while maintaining its focus on rigorous economic analysis and client service.
Dr. Turki will lead the North American practice, overseeing strategic priorities, client relationships and business development. He joined Compass Lexecon in 2017 as a Senior Managing Director and brings extensive experience in economic consulting, securities litigation, financial disputes and regulatory investigations.
His work has included analysing securities fraud claims, assessing liability and damages, and examining disputes involving derivatives and structured financial products. This experience gives him a strong background in applying economic analysis to complex legal and commercial questions.
MacMenamin will serve as Deputy President, working with Turki and the firm’s Chairman to coordinate operational and financial priorities. He joined Compass Lexecon in 2021 and became a Senior Managing Director in 2025.
His expertise includes antitrust and competition economics, merger reviews, consumer protection, intellectual property, valuation and securities matters. He has also worked on complex competition cases involving technology businesses, applying quantitative methods to evaluate market behaviour, potential competitive harm and damages.
Together, the appointments create a leadership structure that combines financial and securities expertise with competition economics and litigation experience.
Professor Daniel Fischel, who previously held both the President and Chairman positions, will continue as Chairman. His responsibilities will include developing client relationships, recruiting and mentoring talent, and guiding the firm’s long-term strategic direction.
“Adel and Niall bring deep industry expertise and a shared commitment to the high standards of Compass Lexecon. I am confident that they will expand on what we have achieved thus far and pursue opportunities that will ensure we stay at the forefront of our industry for many years to come.” - Professor Daniel Fischel, Chairman of Compass Lexecon
The appointments reflect the firm’s intention to preserve its established strengths while developing new opportunities for growth. FTI Consulting Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Steven Gunby also expressed confidence in the leadership team, highlighting the experience and judgement both executives bring to the business.
Compass Lexecon operates across competition economics, finance, intellectual property, international arbitration and energy. Its international network supports clients facing complex disputes, regulatory investigations and commercial decisions that require detailed economic evidence.
The leadership changes place emphasis on aligning strategic direction with operational execution. Turki’s background in securities and financial disputes complements MacMenamin’s expertise in competition economics, giving the leadership team experience across several of the firm’s core service areas.
For the wider consulting industry, the appointments demonstrate the importance of experienced leadership in specialist advisory businesses. Economic consultants increasingly support clients navigating complex litigation, competition reviews and financial questions in which evidence-based analysis can influence significant commercial outcomes.
Compass Lexecon’s new structure is intended to strengthen coordination, maintain high standards of client service and support the firm’s long-term development across North America and its wider international network.
