Professional services firm AAB has acquired Veritas Advisory, a specialist consultancy focused on capital allowances and property tax advice, strengthening its advisory capabilities across the real estate, investment and private capital markets.
The acquisition is part of AAB’s broader growth strategy to expand its specialist expertise and strengthen its position as a leading adviser to businesses, investors and entrepreneurial organisations. Following the deal, AAB will employ more than 1,900 people across 25 locations in the UK, Ireland and internationally.
Founded in 2013, Veritas Advisory provides specialist advice to accountants, investors, property occupiers, agents and legal professionals. Its work combines property and tax expertise to help clients identify and manage capital allowances associated with property expenditure.
The consultancy supports projects ranging from individual property expenditure valued at £50,000 to large portfolios worth hundreds of millions of pounds. Its expertise covers property acquisitions and disposals, development projects, investment portfolios, property funds and complex due diligence assignments.
The acquisition expands AAB’s ability to support clients throughout the investment lifecycle. By bringing Veritas Advisory’s specialist knowledge together with its wider tax and professional services capabilities, AAB aims to offer more comprehensive advice to businesses operating in complex property and investment markets.
“This is a strategically important acquisition for AAB and another clear demonstration of our ambition.” - Mark Lappin, Head of Tax at AAB
He added: “We are building a business with genuine scale, deep specialist expertise and the ability to deliver exceptional outcomes for clients operating in increasingly complex markets.”
According to AAB, Veritas Advisory’s experience will strengthen its services for clients involved in real estate transactions, investment activities and private capital markets. The combined business will be positioned to advise on property assets ranging from £50,000 to more than £5 billion.
The acquisition also strengthens AAB’s presence in London, an important centre for financial services, property investment and private capital. It is expected to deepen the firm’s relationships across the legal, property and investment communities while broadening the specialist services available to existing and prospective clients.
AAB is pursuing an expansion strategy backed by Goldman Sachs Alternatives, with investment in specialist capabilities and talent forming a key part of its plans. The Veritas Advisory deal follows other acquisitions intended to broaden the firm’s geographical reach and professional services offering.
“We have built our business by becoming trusted advisers to some of the most active investors, corporates and professional firms in the market.” - Clive Curd, Founder and Director of Veritas Advisory
He added that joining AAB would provide the business with “The platform, scale and investment to accelerate our growth” while maintaining its specialist expertise and client focus.
Curd also highlighted the opportunity to further develop Veritas Advisory’s artificial intelligence technology to serve clients and the wider real estate market.
The acquisition reflects the growing importance of specialist advisory services as businesses and investors navigate increasingly complex property transactions, tax requirements and investment decisions. By combining its existing professional services platform with Veritas Advisory’s expertise, AAB is looking to expand its capabilities and strengthen its position in the UK and Ireland advisory market.
